Shirley R. Skoien

The Visitation for Shirley R. Skoien (nee Tess), 88, of Inverness will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015, from 3:00 to  8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  The Visitation will continue Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, 1475 Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067.  The Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.  The Reverend Peter McQueen will officiate.

Shirley was born June 10, 1926 in Chicago and she passed away February 23, 2015 in Highland Park.

She was the beloved wife of the late Willard J. Skoien; loving mother of Gary Skoien and Dawn (Thomas) Reed; loving grandmother of Lindsay, Kristi, and Bethany Reed and Lincoln, Winston and Elizabeth Skoien.  Dear daughter of the late Hilmer and Lorraine (nee Sass) Tess.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. John United Church of Christ or favorite charity.
