Visitation for Sr. Josephine Brannan, a Little Sister of the Poor, will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, from 3:00 to 7.00 pm at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, with a Rosary Vigil at 4:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the chapel of St. Joseph’s Home. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Sr. Josephine died after a long illness on February 7, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born in St. Louis MO, where she entered the Congregation in 1965.
After professing her Vows in 1968, and for the next 57 years, she devoted herself to a life of service for the needy elderly. Regardless of her responsibilities or location, she brought love, joy, and attention to the needs of others that contributed to the family spirit so vital to the life of the Homes of the Little Sisters of the Poor, and to those with whom she shared the journey to heaven.
Of nine siblings, Sr. Josephine is survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters, as well as her nieces and nephews with whom she shared a very special connection.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring the elderly persons served by Sr. Josephine may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph’s Home for the elderly, 80 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067.
