Stanley Diones

Visitation for Stanley Diones, 82, of Palatine, will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 11:00 am until the time of the Liturgy at 12:00 pm at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S. Roselle Road, Palatine. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

It is with profound sadness that the Diones family announces the peaceful passing of Stanley Diones on Sunday, June 25^th, at the age of 82 years old. Stanley was born in Mouzaki, Greece, and immigrated to the United States in 1967 to join his brother in hopes of following the American dream. Shortly after, he met and then married the love of his life, Sula Diones on February 4th, 1968. Stanley and Sula welcomed a daughter, Antonia Diones, in 1972 followed by a son, Gus Diones, in 1976. Stanley was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed watching the Cubs, cooking, gardening, and later on in life, playing with his grandchildren Talia and Nicco. He will be remembered not only for his profound love for his family but his vivacious spirit and witty sense of humor.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Sula; children, Toni, Gus (Lisa); grandchildren, Talia and Nicco, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Kostas and Antonia Dionysopoulos.
