Stanley R. King

Funeral Services for Stanley R. King, 85, will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00am at The Orchard Church at 1330 North Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois. The Interment will be private.

Stan was born August 24, 1935 and passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020.

Stan was the loving husband of Nancy (nee Mickey) for 63 years and together they raised four children; David (Ruth), Stephen (Sheila), Karen Kruse (Timothy) and Andrew (Laura). Stan loved being a grandpa to Ben (Steveie) King, Betsy (Daniel) King-McDonald, Andy (Laurel) King and Evan and Colin King and great-grandpa to Leo and Felix DuPont.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Laura King and cherished brothers, Verne (Betty) King and Kenneth (Barbara) King. He is brother-in-law to Susan Griess and Stephen (Golda) Mickey and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he worked as an IBM field manager for 30 years. He and Nancy were long-time residents of Elk Grove Village.

He was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights. He was a man of goodness and integrity.

Stan was loved by his family, friends and neighbors. He always had a kind word and a warm smile. In recent months, he courageously faced many health challenges. He remains an inspiration to all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Stan’s name to either Lurie Children’s Hospital or Inner City Impact (ICI) both in Chicago, Illinois.
