Stanley W. Broten

Visitation for Stanley W. Broten, age 79, will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016  from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, 2:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.  A private family Interment will be held Tuesday at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Stan peacefully passed away on June 8, 2016 after fighting a 2 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  He was the beloved husband of Jean (Gastfield) for 54 years.  He was born January 13, 1937 in Union, IL, to the late Marshall and Clara Broten.  He grew up in Evanston, IL, and raised his family in Arlington Heights and has lived in Palatine for the past 20 years.

Stan worked the majority of his career at Harris Bank in Chicago, and was the treasurer of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights for the past 35 years.  He enjoyed fishing; camping, vacationing in Nokomis, Florida and watching his grandchildren participate in their activities.  

Stan was a proud husband, father and grandfather.  What he loved most in life was his family.  He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Mark (Kathleen) Broten, daughter, Susan (Paul) Bloomquist; four grandchildren, Haley, Megan, Kyle and Pauly; sisters, Beverly (late Joseph) Kasian, Judy Reynolds and Sandra (late Gerald) Sikorski; and many nieces and nephews.
