Steven A. Chernicky

Visitation for Steven Allen Chernicky, 55, of Palatine will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Prayers will be said at 9:30 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2017 also at the funeral home and proceed to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.  The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Steve was born in Arlington Heights on April 14, 1962 to Barbara and the late Steve Chernicky.  He passed away at home on Monday, May 22, 2017.

He was last employed at Pactiv for 26 years.  He previously worked at Dominick’s and Northrop Grumman.  Steve was a graduate of Palatine High School.  He was also an avid sports fan and music enthusiast.  Steve will fondly be remembered for being a loving son, brother and uncle.  

Steve is survived by his mother, Barbara; siblings, twin sister, Sheryl (Rob) DeBlock, Linda (Robert) Ruff,  the late Michael, and Laura Chernicky; nieces and nephew, Alex, Madison, Brittany, and Camille Ruff; his aunts and uncles, Bill & Angie Swaggerty, Fran (the late George) Onderisin and Carol Coe; family cat, Diva and his twin sister’s dog, Bear.  

Memorials, in Steve’s name, may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604-1242
