Susan M. Trainor

Visitation for Susan M. Trainor (“Sue”), 59, of Lake Barrington (formerly Guerneville, CA) will be held from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The Visitation will continue from 10:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The Funeral Services may be view at Mrs. Trainor’s Funeral Service.

Sue was born on September 2, 1963, in Silver Spring, MD; known forever as Greg’s “Blue Susie baby”. Greg, Sue and Carol spent many happy years in Detroit, MI before moving to Palatine, IL in 1974. Sue was a doting sister when Stephen was born that same year.

Sue graduated Palatine High School in 1981, where she played both basketball and softball but was best known as the school’s sport’s photographer. A proud member of the National Honor Society, Sue went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at The University of Illinois and her MBA at Illinois State University.

Sue loved to travel and in her 35-year career at Abbott/Hospira/Pfizer, she traveled to many exotic places – – Russia, South Africa, Ireland, Croatia, and so many more. Later in life, Sue developed a passion for cycling. After the passing of her father, Sue joined the Team in Training, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society cycling fundraiser, cycling 100 miles each ride to help find a cure for cancer. Sue rode 3 separate times.

She is the loving daughter of Joanne and the late James Trainor; she is also survived by her siblings, Greg (Janice) Trainor, Carol (Paul) Stark, and Stephen (JoJo) Trainor; dear aunt to: Sarah Trainor, Jacqueline Trainor, Zack Stark, Ellie Stark, Bridget Trainor, and Declan Trainor.
