Susan L. Silver

A Celebration of Life Service for Susan L. Silver, 68, of Crystal Lake, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at The Chapel – Lake Zurich, 330 S Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.

Susan was born on September 19, 1955, and raised by foster parents Harry and Bella Kushner in West Rogers Park. She graduated from Mather High School in 1973 and went on to become a cosmetologist. Susan enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, birdwatching, and spending time with those she loved. Her family was her greatest treasure.

Susan passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Lutheran General Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Susan was the beloved wife of Richard M. Silver for 45 years; loving mother of Whitney (Mike) Broska and Ashley (Robert) Shackelford; cherished grandmother “Mema” of Joslyn and Hannah Shackelford.

Susan’s absence will be deeply felt, but she will be remembered warmly, and her legacy will live on through her family.
