Sylvina “Hope” Rusten

Sylvina “Hope” Rusten was born on December 14, 1918 in West Allis, WI to John and Margaretha Smith (nee Schmitz).  Loving wife, devoted mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, she lived most of her life in Arlington Heights, IL.  She died at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

Hope was friendly and generous, and her love and care for animals knew no bounds.  She will be best remembered for her exuberant laughter, sassiness and fun-loving attitude.

She is survived by her children John (Beatrice) Rusten and Jill (Barry Fisk) Rusten, her granddaughters Emily and Elizabeth Fisk, grandson Robert Fisk and her dog Sassy.  Hope is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 68 years, Arnold “Russ” Rusten.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 10:00am until the time of the Service, 11:00am at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.  The Interment will be at Fountain Lutheran Cemetery in Kendall, WI on Friday, July 29, 2016.
