He served two congregations in the Florida Keys from 1967-1971; Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Worth, FL from 1971-1988; and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine, IL from 1988 until 1996. He served in weddings, funerals, and other capacities in the following years; and continued to serve on the leadership team of the church where he and Elsie attended.
He was an active man whose passion in life was to reach others with the Gospel of free forgiveness & eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, starting with his family. He loved his family and he enjoyed sharing his wisdom, values, and interests with every generation. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and reading. He also volunteered his time in his church, Rotary International, the Lutheran Mission in Perú, the “Read to Learn” program, and as a Cook County “court watcher”. His family and friends will always remember him as a strong, energetic, loving, & dependable Christian.
