Tommy was born on July 8, 1986. He passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.

Tommy was one of those rare people that knew exactly what he wanted to do from a very young age, and had the courage to go out and make his dreams a reality. He started his balloon business, Balloons by Tommy, at 14 years old, and grew it into a business that inspired not only his clients, but artists in his industry around the world. He has won many awards for his work and influence in the community. His partner in business and in life, Scott DeLorenzo, will continue his legacy.

Tommy loved to bring a bit of magic and joy to everyone he met. His job, but more importantly his life, aimed to making people feel special. He never let a moment go by without kindness, and a whole lot of sparkle. Even during his largest fight, he was always thanking and praising his medical team.

Tommy enjoyed travelling with friends and family, throwing epic parties, gardening, raising and releasing monarch butterflies, and also quiet nights at home with his husband Scott and their dogs.

Tommy was the loving husband of Andrew Scott DeLorenzo; cherished son of Joseph and Mary DeLorenzo; treasured brother of Michael DeLorenzo and Deborah (Keith) Strohm; beloved uncle of Siena Strohm. Tommy is also survived by his aunt, Carol (Carl) Theobald.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence Oswaldowski, Helen Oswaldowski, Ben DeLorenzo, Agnes DeLorenzo; and his uncle, Paul Pane.
