Thomas Dipper Jr.

Visitation for Thomas Dipper, Jr., 86, of Island Lake former longtime resident of Palatine, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The interment will be private.

Thomas was born on May 17, 1927 in San Antonio, TX, the son of the late Thomas A. and Virginia (nee Shepherd) Dipper, Sr. and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

Tom is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Coast Guard.  Prior to retiring Tom worked for more than 50 years as a carpenter and was a member of Local 558 of the Carpenters Union.

He is survived by his best friend and companion of more than 25 years, Ora “Abbey” Mick and her sons Edward J. Mick and Steven (Amy) Mick and their children Emily, Sarah and Ethan Mick.
