Thomas H. Byrne

Visitation for Thomas H. Byrne, 80, a resident of Palatine since 1968, will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Prayers will begin Saturday, March 4, 2017, 9:30 a.m. also at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, with the Funeral Mass beginning said, 10:00 a.m at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine.  The Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL.

Tom passed away at home on Sunday, February 26, 2017, and was born on February 12, 1937 in Chicago.

Family was most important to Tom, which he proved by showing his constant devotion and love.  He was a dedicated caregiver to his wife, Kathy and daughter, Sue, during their illnesses.  His generosity included spoiling his six grandchildren with popsicles.  After family, came Chicago sports.  Tom rarely missed a Cubs, Blackhawks or Bears game.  He was thrilled to have seen the Cubs’ victory.

Survivors include his children, Patricia Byrne and Thomas (Kelly) Byrne; grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, Kathleen, Kimberly, Patrick and Shannon Byrne; sister, Ellen Andari; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen of 42 years and daughter, Susan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Clearbrook, 1835 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
