Thomas W. Steiner

Visitation for Thomas Walton Steiner, 74, of Lake Barrington, will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Family and Friends will meet at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods on Monday, February 26, 2018 for a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.

Thomas was born on February 18, 1944 and passed on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home.

Thomas is the beloved husband and best friend to Margi; devoted father of: Peter & Chad (Kim) of Fort Myers, FL; devoted father in law of: Bill (Maria) of Lake Zurich, IL, and Greg (Alyce) of Traverse City, MI ; adored grandfather of: Megan & Madison Englehardt, and Beckett & Cullen Steiner; dear brother of: Jeff (Linda) of Hendersonville, NC, Jerry (Susan) of Brunswick, MA and the late Chuck (Marcy) of Niskayuna, NY.

Tom was a kind man with an incredible love of life, who saw the joy of every moment in whatever he pursued.  He provided unconditional love and support to his family and friends.  He loved traveling with his partner and wife Margi; visiting grandchildren, exploring national parks, civil war battlefields and wine trips with friends.  He volunteered with several non for profit organizations, was a Deacon at St. Matthews Lutheran Church and he loved biking, “He was such a nice guy “.
