On Friday, September 8, 2017, the world lost an amazing man with a kind heart and a gentle soul. The sudden and unexpected death from heart disease of Timothy C. Froderman, M.D. (55) at his home in Deer Park, Illinois has brought profound sadness to his family, friends, patients and everyone who knew the gifts of his genuine and humble spirit and abiding love, compassion and care.

Family was everything to Tim.  At the core, was his love, pride and devotion to his wife Vicky Lyn (Hampton), their daughter, Avery Rose (14) and his stepdaughter Grace Dillon (20).  Tim readily spread his love to his four siblings – Lynda (Dan) Tomhave, Vanessa Atkinson, Fred (Lisa) and Ted (Sherrie); his mother- and father-in-law – Lynn (nee Haubl) and Art Meinzer; three brothers-in-law – Steve (Linda), Brian (Kara) and Glen (Cathy); and 21 nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Tim.

Tim was born on July 31, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Stanley and Lillyan (nee Turner) Froderman.  As the saying goes, the boy may have left Indiana, but Indiana never left him.  He was always eager to share stories of growing up on a farm.  His rural roots fed his passion for simple pleasures and his connection to all animals, especially his dogs. Fishing, boating, beekeeping and golf all brought him great joy.

At age 30, Tim answered his late-in-life calling to pursue a career in medicine.  As a family practice physician, he cared deeply about his patients and the medical staff who worked alongside him.  He had the rare quality of being an excellent doctor who was also a really, really nice person.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pat Strong for Camp One Step 213 W. Institute Place, Suite 306, Chicago, IL 60610.
