Toni Marie Sergott

Memorial Visitation for Toni Marie Sergott, 67, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and Kildeer, Illinois, will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will take place at a later date in New Hampshire.

Toni was born on April 5, 1955 in Harvey, Illinois, to loving parents Anthony and Valerie Sergott. The third of four daughters, Toni graduated from DePaul University and forged her way as a working woman in Chicago. Her tenure at Midwest Center for Day Surgery and Good Shepherd Hospital brought her the blessing of lifelong friends.

Toni married the love of her life, Dale Chellis, in 1995 in Bull Valley, Illinois. Together they enjoyed looking after their kitties and spending time with “the Grands” grandchildren and their many grand nieces and nephews. Toni enjoyed caring for all animals, from the birds in her own backyard to the many pets up for adoption at the Save-A-Pet shelter.

Toni met often with her beloved sisters over rounds of giggle golf, concerts, or shopping. An excellent cook, Toni hosted Thanksgiving gatherings for many years. Her sugar cookies were a much-requested treat.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Zurich, Illinois, where she volunteered her time cleaning and pressing the church linens.

A Jazzercise enthusiast for decades, she also enjoyed gardening and taking walks with friends and neighbors. While her travels took her to Alaska, Jerusalem, Hawaii, Prague, and Ireland, she was happiest sharing a glass of fine wine at home with her husband, admiring a sunset on the river.

Heaven welcomed Toni; the beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend–on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Toni is the beloved wife of Dale Chellis; dear stepmother of Rhona Henderson; loving sister of Terry (Dixon) Slater, Paulette (Kenneth) Jurek, and Roxane (Wayne) Kurt; fond sister-in-law of Claire (Dale) Ash; cherished aunt of Jeff Ash, Kevin (Remington) Ash, Wendy (Jayson) Kaus, Jennifer (Timothy) Burkhalter, Jeremy (Stephanie) Jurek, Tiffany (Michael) Caltagirone, Malerie (Christopher) James, Anthony (Andrea) Kurt; fond great aunt of Benjamin, Audrey, Anna, Grant, Rachel, Lucas, Ryan, Emily, Gina, Lily, Michael, and Evelyn; and step grandmother of Kyla and Dakota.

Toni is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Valerie Sergott; in-laws, Delbert and Barbara Chellis; and nephew, Jason Jurek.
