It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerie A. Al-Naemy, 83, formerly of Chicago, who departed this world on Sunday, October 6, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Born on February 14, 1941, to Alfred and Adeline Urlich, Valerie was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. Known affectionately as Val, she touched the hearts of friends and family with her kindness and unwavering spirit.
Val was the cherished mother of Sawosan (Jay) Kopecky and Sanah (Patrick) Krech, who blessed her with the joy of wonderful grandchildren: Justice, Sage Kopecky, and Malik and Halla Krech. She was incredibly proud and filled with happiness when spending time with them whether it be a game of cards or a puzzle of any kind.
In addition to her family, Val is remembered by her siblings and dearest friends: Cheryl Weaver, David (Suzanne) Ulrich, Mary Beth Bradley, Phyllis Washington and Norma Bass. Their bonds were a source of support and joy throughout Val’s life.
Valerie’s legacy extends beyond her immediate friends and family. She leaves a void in her community at Greencastle of Palatine as well as the parish of St. Edna, Arlington Heights.
In honoring her memory, let us remember her remarkable life and the love she shared with all of us. Rest in peace, dear Val; you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
