Verlie Schaefer

Visitation for Verlie Schaefer, 99, of Arlington Heights will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, 80 West Northwest Highway, Palatine.  A Funeral Mass will be said, 10:30 am, Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Home.  Interment will follow at St.Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Buffalo Grove.

Verlie passed away on August 1, 2016 and was born August 24, 1916 in Arlington Heights to Fred and Anna Wickenkamp.

She married Clarence Schaefer in February of 1937 and together they enjoyed 38 years of marriage.  To that marriage was born 7 children: Robert (Kathy) Schaefer, Ronald (Millie) Schaefer, Diana (George) Moser, Gerald (Donna) Schaefer, Donna (Richard) Richards, Jan (Bob) Krull and Don (Kit) Schaefer.  Verlie also had 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, son Robert and 3 great-grandsons.
