Victor L. Bensen

The Memorial Visitation for Victor L. Bensen, 92, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service, 7:00 PM with Pastor Jack Jenkins officiating at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  The Interment will be private.

Victor was born on April 13, 1923 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Victor B. and Elizabeth (nee Kalb) Bensen and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Victor was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving with the Seabee’s in the South Pacific during WWII.  Victor was married to Maryon (nee Purves) for 67 wonderful years.  He was a member of the Chicago Tile Layers Union for 30 years.  Victor made friends easily and made a profound impact on many lives.

Beloved husband of Maryon (nee Purves) Bensen; loving father of Jay (Carol) Bensen, Gayle (Pastor Jack) Jenkins, Lynn (Richard) Greene and Glenn (Janice) Bensen; cherished grandfather of Nick and Tiffany Bensen, Dan (Hannah) Jenkins, Amy (Matt) Palmer, David (Jayme) Jenkins, Ben, Bethany and Brooke Harms, Abby and Eric Bensen; great grandfather of 11; dear brother of Marbeth (Irvin) Lange; loving uncle of 3 nieces, 2 nephews,  also surviving are many great nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial in memory of Victor, would be appreciated for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 4619 N. Ravenswood, Chicago, IL 60640.
