Virginia L. Tolk

Visitation for Virginia L. Tolk, 82, of Palatine,m will be from 2:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Interment will be in Nelson, Missouri.  The Funeral will be streamed at 4:00 PM at Mrs. Tolk’s Funeral Service.

Virginia was born on February 4, 1940 to become the cherished daughter of the late Jacob and Lucy Tolk.  She passed away on January 21, 2023.

Virginia/Ginny/Ginger was a beautiful, intelligent, adventurous, generous, loving person.  After receiving her Master’s Degree in Education, she dedicated her young life to helping children learn to read, and eventually to direct the ESL programing in Palatine District 15.  She was an avid traveler and had been to all continents including Antarctica.  As the consummate teacher she was happiest when she was sharing her adventures, through a library program or talking with a friend.  She was generous to everyone, whether it was giving her time or money to her beloved church, The People’s Church, or The Garden Club, The Library, her Alma maters, many charities, or friends.  If you needed anything, she wanted to meet that need.  She loved her created family, and would do anything, including riding rides at Disney, if the children asked her too.  She was a beautiful, intelligent, adventurous, generous, loving person who was many different things to many people, and she will be missed.

She is survived by her person, Karen Moist; dear aunt to: Lottie Page, and Bradley Page Jr.; fond friend to: Lori (Elton) Bordenave, their children, Jacob & Harry; Carin (Ed) Vittorio and their children, Grace & Christian.

She was preceded in death by her best friend, RitaMarie Moist.
