Vito Carnesecchi

September 24, 1946 — May 17, 2018

A Visitation for Vito Carnesecchi, 71, a resident of Palatine since 1993 formerly of Rolling Meadows, will be held at St. Colette Catholic Church, 3900 S. Meadow Drive, Rolling Meadows, on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 9:00 AM.  A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 AM. An Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Vito was born the eldest child of the late Ovidio and Jennie (Demaio) Carnesecchi on September 24, 1946 in Chicago, IL.  He passed away on Thursday May 17, 2018.

Vito was the devoted husband of over 40 years to the late Jo Anna (Rocco) Carnesecchi; proud father of Anthony J. (Melanie) Carnesecchi and Joseph P. Carnesecchi; adored “Papa” of Elizabeth Carnesecchi; beloved brother of Jeanne (late George) Paradies, Anthony “Tony” (Sandi) Carnesecchi and the late Mickey Carnesecchi and Joannie McLaughlin; brother-in-law of Carroll (Edward) Burchert; uncle of many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; also preceded in death by his in laws Joseph and Grace Rocco.

Vito will be remembered as a hard worker, dedicated family man, and friend to many.  After retiring from the State of Illinois, he returned to his roots as a barber, a profession he enjoyed.  When he wasn’t on the job, Vito could often be found working in his yard or in front of a television cheering for one of our great Chicago sports teams.  Like a lot of us, he was thrilled when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Vito loved our Chicago fast food (beef sandwiches! hot dogs! pizza!) and visiting the horses at Arlington Park.  Vito’s true joy, though, came from his family, most especially his treasured granddaughter, Elizabeth. He will be missed.
