Walter K. Niefanger

Visitation for Walter K. Niefanger, 79, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Father David Ryan will officiate the Mass.  An Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.

Walter was born January 26, 1935 in Germany, and he passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his bedside, on April 19, 2014 in Hawthorn Woods.

Walter was the beloved husband of Rita T. Niefanger (nee Hupf), loving father of Gabriele (James) Banaszak and Christine (James) Dorshorst; loving grandfather of Lauren Banaszak, Christopher Banaszak and Olivia Dorshorst; dear son of the late Alois and the late Kreszenz (nee Weigl) Niefanger; fond brother of Irma (Herbert) Zeller; and uncle of Andreas Zeller.
