Wanda L. Potempa

The visitation for Wanda L. Potempa, 84, of St. Louis, MO, and formerly of Palatine, IL, will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, and from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton Street, Palatine.  An Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.

Wanda L. (nee Konarski) Potempa passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 surrounded by her family.  Born and raised in Chicago, Wanda married her husband in 1960 and raised their only child in Palatine.  Wanda was a devoted mother and “Nana” whose passion was spending time with her grandchildren.  Wanda’s unconditional love and care for her family was the central part of her life.  Because Wanda lived with her daughter’s family for many years, her family will always feel her warmth and presence.  Wanda also enjoyed sewing, drawing, crossword puzzles, music and watching game shows.  Beloved wife of the late Henry Potempa; loving mother of Elizabeth (Robert) Fenley; cherished nana of Jordan, Grant, Brooke and Isabella; dear sister of Regina Saunders and the late Diana Guskey; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family and friends.
