Graveside Services for Wayne “Coach” Alfred Larson, 86, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.  Immediately following the service, the family invites you to join them at a reception celebrating his life, at Saranello’s, 601 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling.

Wayne was born on February 22, 1930 in Chicago and passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 in Arlington Heights.  

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lorraine Louise Okrasa Larson, whom he married on May 22, 1954; son, Lee Allen (Sue) Larson; daughter, Peggy Ann (Joe) Mims; son, Don Alfred (Cathy) Larson; grandchildren, Eric Larson, Kellie Sims, Kim Lapato, Dan Mims, Jason Mims, Kyle Larson, Tiffany Larson, & Mike Larson; great grandchildren, Aubrey Sims, Chloe Sims, Madelyn Abel, MacKenzie Sims, Eric Larson, Jr., Virginia Lapato, Natalie Mims, Anika Larson, Riley Mims, Bailey Sims, Thomas Lapato, Mason Lapato and Ella Mims. and his sister; Phyllis Montgomery.

Wayne attended Byford Elementary and Austin High School.  He will be remembered for his great love of his country and the United States Marine Corp.  Joining in 1948 and was discharged as a Sergeant in 1952.  He was a member of the local and international Lithographer’s Union.  As a printer Wayne worked for Meyercord Printing, Cardinal Color Print, Rand McNally, Schawk Graphics, and Wallace Press.  Wayne was deacon for Arlington Heights Baptist Church, Maplewood Baptist Church and Foster Avenue Baptist Church.  His hobbies including fishing, boating, snowmobiling, traveling, playing cards, wood crafting, and landscaping.  He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Green Bay Packers.

Wayne loved his wife with all his heart and soul.  They were inseparable in life and will be united again in heaven by death. He and Lorraine raised three children that are successful in life, contributing to their community and faithful in their service and love of God.  His eight grandchildren have memories of a loving, attentive and happy Gramps.
