William J. Rech

Visitation for William J. Rech, 75, of Palatine, will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the Celebration of Life begins at 2:00 PM at The Chapel, 431 N. Quentin Road, Palatine, IL. A private Interment with full military honors will be held at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery, Fort Sheridan, IL.

Bill was known by few and loved by all. He was wonderfully inappropriate, loved to laugh, and really enjoyed getting Mom wound up. Dad was known as PopPop to the grandkids, always said exactly what an adult shouldn’t, and was unapologetic in who he was and what kind of man he was. Dad, loved his family, was kind to all he met, and always made the people he was around, want to be a better person. Dad was an ever-present source of humor, generosity, and could fix anything.

Bill was born on September 28, 1948, to Frank and Loretta Rech. He passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Bill is the beloved husband of Pam Rech of 52 years; loving father of Meg (Stephen) Flowers, Amy (Chad) Helms, Billy (Lindsey) Rech; and cherished grandfather of Emma, Noah, Noelle, Ruth, Luke, Leyli, and Lily.
