Visitation for Winn C. Davidson, longtime resident of Palatine and Johnsburg, IL., will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, and from 10:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM for friends and family on Saturday, November 29, at the First United Methodist Church of McHenry, 3717 Main Street, McHenry.  An Interment will follow at Ringwood Cemetery in Ringwood, IL.

Winn was born on June 8, 1938 in Kansas City, MO the son of the late Harry S. and Myrtle (nee Johnson) Davidson and passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Palatine.

Survived by his beloved wife Linda (nee Leshuk) whom he married on December 26, 1979 in Woodstock, IL and preceded in death by his first wife Barbara “Bambi” (nee Marticke) Davidson; also survived by his loving children Laurie Ann (Jeffrey) Schmid, Craig W. (Kimie) Davidson, Linda S. (Steven) Isberg, Clark C. Davidson, Lesley C. (Eric) Malmstrom and Lisa M. Davidson; cherished grandchildren Stephanie, Dale, Allison, Diane, John, Kyle, Katrina, Layton and Lauren; great grandson Adrian; brother Lyle (Irene) Davidson and many nieces and nephews.

Winn graduated from McHenry High School in 1956.  He went on to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business.  He lettered in wrestling at both universities.

While working at First National Bank of Chicago, he graduated in 1967 with a Doctorate in Law from John Marshall Law School and practiced law in Palatine.  In 1975, he founded Bank of Palatine serving as President and Chairman of the Board for 39 years. Winn served the community in many ways; he was the President of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Palatine Police Pension Board and the Palatine Jaycees, as well as an honorary member of the Palatine Rotary.  He was recognized by John Marshall Law School with a Distinguished Service Award in 1987.  Throughout his career, he was also a successful real estate developer, managing partnerships in Illinois and Arizona.

Winn was a loving, gentle,and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved spending time at home in Johnsburg on his John Deere tractor, mowing the fields, fishing,and enjoying life in the country with his family.  He was also an avid racquetball player and rarely missed a day on the courts.  Winn supported the wrestling community throughout his life and loved traveling the country to attend national collegiate wrestling events. One of his proudest accomplishments in life was being able to serve and support his community through the Bank of Palatine.
